New Goodies, Buttons and WOYWW

New stamping goodies in the house!  I took a ride up to one of my favorite scrapbook stores and bought a few things.  I've been admiring flowers made from Tim Holtz's Tattered Floral dies, so I got one of his mini ones, along with the cutest tiny cookie cutter charm-like decorations.  I needed some  tags for Tag Tuesday, and just started using my new Skipping Stones Stamps.  You can see a card made with them here.

When I was at a yard sale a few weeks ago, I came across this lovely old Santa tin, and was very happy to see it was full of vintage buttons, so I took a few pics of it for my photo class.

If you are wondering why I am showing you my desk, it's because it is Wed., and you can see workspaces from all over the world at Julia's Stamping Ground blog.  Check it out!.

The Music in Me

This pretty bird is from the Skipping Stones stamp set that I won last month, and I wanted to try it out on a 1 layer card.  I masked off a section, sponged the background with distress ink, and spritzed a little water on before I stamped the bird.  How do you like the sentiment?

I'm entering this in One Layer Wednesday Challenge- Sponging,  and Less is More include 3 past challenges.  This fits #23 Something with Legs, #80 One Layer Fur or Feathers, and  #79 Blue and Green.

Half a Card and WOYWW

It's Wednesday, and time to share what we have on our workspace.  I am working on an embossed owl card, and playing around with painting in some of the owls, to see what colors look good together.  You can see my half finished card up in the corner.  I'll have it finished later today, and post it tomorrow.

The other side of my table has these pretties.  I picked them up at a church rummage sale last weekend for .50 each.  I might use them in a crafting project, or I might sell them in my booth space at a local antique store.  I think each one has a nice graphic design.

Take a hop over to Julia's blog, The Stamping Ground to see what other interesting spaces are being being shown this week.  Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you will leave a comment, and if you like what you see, decide to follow me.

Autumn Pear

Here's a tag I made to play along over at Tag Tuesday.

This is a pear stamp that I have had for a while, and I love the image with the script behind it.   I inked all around it with distress ink, and painted it in with my Twinkling H2O watercolors. You can see how they sparkle on the lower part of the pear. I also layered on a splatter of Smooch Spritz.

The sentiment says "Keep your faith in beautiful things: in the sun when it is hidden, in the spring when it is gone". I used that one because although I love this beautiful fall weather with cool nights and warm days that we have had recently here in New England, I am not looking forward to the colder temperature that will be coming soon!

The Artistic Stamper- Splatters and Speckles.  I love to add those splatters!

A Card, a Photo and WOYWW

My desk is just littered with bits and pieces of fall projects, it really doesn't have anything new on it, but I wanted to show my "What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday" friends a one layer card I just finished for the Less is More One Layer Challenge-Foliage.  I colored in the leaf and script  Hero Arts stamp with both small Stampin' Spots and markers to give it some depth, stamped it and was done!

I've started my photography class again, and have spent quite a bit of time either taking or working with my photos.  This is a butterfly that was sipping nectar on a plant in my garden.  I love the spots on the butterfly's wings.

Hop on over to The Stamping Ground to see what all the creative participants have shared with us this week!

Thanks for stopping by, I love to read all of your comments!

My Thoughts

This is one of my new Stampin' Up sets called Papaya Collage.  I made a simple card, mostly 1 layer, with just the beautiful bird popped up.  I stamped the frame with distress inks, and then masked it off to add the splatter of color with my Smooch Spritz.

I'm entering this in the Less is More Challenge to use pink and brown, and the Artistic Stamper-Splatters and Speckles, and the Moxie Fab Challenge- Asymmetry.

Thanks for stopping by!
