Runway Inspired and WOYWW

It's Wednesday, and I am looking forward to seeing all the interesting crafter's desks that link up to Julia's Stamping Ground.  On my desk I've got some new goodies, and a card that's finished and a tag that's started.  Don't you love those little camera dies?  I'm going to try those today!

You can see some new stamps and dies that came last week, and a tag in the making for Tag Tuesday.
This is the card that I just finished for the Runway Inspired Challenge Blog.

The inspiration photo had some very colorful dresses, and I wanted to create something with that bright yellow, since it has been so dark and gloom here for the last week.  I found some patterned paper that had similar flowers on it, with a black background, so I cut some out and popped them up.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you can take time to leave a comment, I'd love to hear from you!

Birthday Candles

Took out some Hero Arts Stamps to play along with this week's CASology theme "Flame".  I sprayed the card with gold Smooch Spray first in the general area of where I wanted the candle flames to be, and then stamped and paper-pieced the candles and flames.

Thanks for stopping by!  I so appreciate all of your comments.

Click!

I just got this fun Unity Stamp this week, and wanted to make a card for the "Camera Craze" Challenge over at the Moxie Fab World.  I've really been into camera images since I began my photography class several years ago, and they are very popular right now in the crafting world.  To make the camera look realistic, I painted the top part with some Silver Foil Smooch Spritz, and the lens with an shimmery Twinkling H2O.  I stamped it several times and cut out some sections to layer over the front.
I used this sketch from Retro Sketches, but left out the embellishments on the corner.

I am linking this up to Unity Friends with Flair, and CAS-ual Friday-Hi Ho Silver.

Quirky Dancer

I am a participant in Tag Tuesday, a creative blog where we post tags based on a weekly theme.  This year we are going through the alphabet.  When I came to the letter D, I knew I wanted to make a dance themed tag, and I had several great vintage photos from the Graphics Fairy in mind.  I chose this dancer, since she has such a dramatic outfit, and the colors she's wearing reminds me of the Moxie Fab's Tuesday Trigger "I've a Notion" color inspiration here.

She looks like she would "dance for herself" and not worry about what other people think.  I would love to know the story behind this photo!  Was she a professional dancer?  She is wearing pointe ballet shoes, so she must have taken lessons for a long time.  What was the theme of the dance she was in that inspired such a creative costume?  If you are ever looking for great vintage photos, check out the Graphics Fairy site.  Karen posts several images a day, all free to use as you wish.

I am also entering this in Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge, make something messy, because  I used spray inks and stamps to make the background.

Thanks for stopping by, and for leaving all of your kind comments.  Welcome to my latest followers, and if you are just stopping in, I hope you will become a follower, too.

I Love You

I tried out some of my new Stampin Up stamps.  The heart was cut with a framelit on Coordination paper, and sanded to give more texture.  The new Honey Comb embossing folder gave a great texture on the bottom section, while the background piece was stamped with the new wood folder.  Don't you love the Scrabble sentiment?  The Play Date Cafe gave me the color inspiration.

I used a few sketches, one from Retro Sketches, and the other from Unscripted Sketches.

CASology Cue Card this week was Red.

Heart Song and WOYWW

It's Wednesday and I am showing what is on my workspace and sharing it over at the Stamping Ground.

I have been working on a card for Less is More, where the challenge is to make a 1 layer card with a Music theme.  I concentrated so hard on trying the "kissing technique" to add musical notes to my heart stamp before I stamped it that I ended up stamping the sentiment upside down!  Here's my "do over" card for Less is More.  You can see the big mistake below.

I've been in Valentine mode for a while now, and just had a card class at my house this weekend, and the very top pieces are leftovers from that.

The egg tag is for Tag Tuesday.  We are working our way through the alphabet, and this week are we on the letter "F", and I am really behind, I hope I get caught up!
Do stop in to see the other creative workspaces over at Julia's Stamping Ground.

Hey, Sugar!

This fun little cupcake from Hero Arts makes a cute birthday card or a Valentine's Day card.  I decided to make another mini card for the Itty Bitty Card Challenge over at the Moxie Fab World, and this is what I came up with.  Could you tell it was really small when you first saw it?   It's the smallest card I've ever made!

Here it is next to a quarter!  I had a little space to stamp a fun sentiment from Paper Smooches.

A Blog Named Hero is looking for paper pieced projects, and this fits right in, since the entire card is made of 2 cut out cupcake pieces attached to a cupcake shape.

Welcome to all of my new followers, so glad you like my blog.

Love Letters

When I saw this fun Scrabble Stamp from Unity, I knew I had to make a Valentine.  My husband and my son and his girlfriend are always playing Scrabble, and so I thought that they would really like it.  I tried placing the heart in several different places, and ended up covering up the letter V.  Clean and simple!
I am linking up to CASology Cue Card- Game, CASual Friday-Love Letters, and Unity Friends With Flair.
